Should I Get A Dual Waterbed Mattress?

When it comes to choosing a large waterbed mattress you’ve got a few choices to make. Should you go for a waveless waterbed mattress or a free flow mattress? Should you go for a single bladder or a tube set? What about a dual waterbed mattress for a hardside waterbed?

Dual waterbed mattresses are a great idea. They let you and your partner sleep on a mattresses individually set to each others preferred style. Maybe you like a firmer sleep but your partner enjoys a softer level of comfort, no problem. With a dual mattress you can both select individual settings or opt for similar settings when filling your waterbed.

Maybe one of you prefers freeflow and the other prefers a waveless model. No problem, easy to sort out with dual single bed mattresses. What other benefits might there be? Well for a start it’s easier to move your bed around as with a dual mattress you can half the weight load immediately by removing one of the bladders off the bed.

The odds of catastrophic damage from a leak are far better with dual mattresses, you’d have to be damn unlucky to perforate both bladders at the same time, mind you, if you are wise you’ll already opt for a bed with a safety liner so even if you get a catastrophic leak you won’t get the damage that might have gone with it!

Maybe one of you prefers to drop off in a cooler bed whilst one prefers a warm snug bed, with a dual mattress you can choose. Using a heater under each gives each of you control over the specific temperature of your favoured side of the bed! Cool!

Obviously with a dual waterbed mattress you won’t get the problems associated with a single freeflow bladder of riding your partners ripples, or being disturbed by swell in the night as your partner shifts weight. You won’t get that rolling together feeling either.

In the event that one of the mattresses breaks a seam in many years time, and is unrepairable, at least you only have half the problem as matching up to a dual mattress generally isn’t to hard as you won’t be paying for a full mattress.

However, dual mattresses aren’t without their problems. We have already touched on one, potentially your going to have to pay out for two heaters. A small price to pay but your paying for supreme comfort so the pay back is good.
