Flannel and satin waterbed sheets are the premier choice when it comes to decking out your bed for maximum comfort. The Cotton/Polyester mix sheets are common and good value often available as discount waterbed sheets but just don’t quite do it in the luxury stakes.
They can be a little stiff initially until the material has been worked over in a washing machine. They have a reputation for durability and the higher the thread count the better the feel, but for the best sensation you need a flannel or a satin sheet.
Satin sheets are smooth, soft and bring a little glamor to the bedroom. Satin is a closely weaved fabric generally made from silk (can be of varying quality)and is not as robust as cotton mixes but sleeping in satin sheets will make you feel just that extra little bit special. Satin sheets will require a little more care when you come to launder them, but even for the extra price premium they are worth it for the tangible luxury you associate with sleeping in them. Satin water bed sheets make for great anniversary or birthday gifts that just leave the recipient dying to give them a go.
Flannel sheets are the thinking persons choice. Not obviously the most luxurious choice but for softness, warmth, durability and texture they hold pole position. Flannel sheets are generally 100% cotton and you should aim for the heaviest sheets for the maximum coziness. If you get the choice go for sheets made from Egyptian cotton as this is the premier cotton being softer and longer fibered than other types of cotton.
Once you have chosen your fabric check for the pattern of the sheets or rather how it will stay fitted to your mattress. The best bet is generally the elasticated rather than the pocketed pattern but the type of mattress you have and personal preference and experience will dictate for the most part. Be aware that the fitting styles need to be carefully analyzed if you are opting for satin sheets but the more durable cotton or flannel waterbed sheets may great choices if elasticated fitting is your thing.
